Climate Change Ideal For African Locusts
Locusts in Africa are worse than they’ve been in seventy years, and it’s due to climate change. Warmer, wetter conditions in eastern Africa, caused by the warming of the Indian Ocean, have created ideal conditions for desert locusts to breed in huge numbers—up to 150 million per square kilometer.
